On the side east of the square is the magnificent church of St Mary with its beautiful architecture inside and outside. It is well worth a visit even for those who are not religious, try to catch a mass for the choir alone. Not far from the market square is the majestic river Vistula, where you can relax with a walk after dinner or for the more active, you can try a boat tour of pleasure, at the mouth of the Vistula is the ancient fortress city of the deal still impressive.

Southeast of the city is the city of Weiliczka, which is where you find the salt mines a great day trip and only half an hour of course, the mines themselves date from the 18th century when they were first used, but today they are a tourist attraction. They were brought to the love lives of three brothers who have carved local churches and underground walk ways in salt at 2000 feet underground, it is a wonderful site and the monument to the hard work and dedication, which remains to this day Polish couples can marry in church very low which, with its altar and even full-Station Cross sculptures must be seen to be believed, the younger he is also a wonderful display light close to the underground lake.

Another trip is a must for most people is a visit to the town of Oswiecim, better known for atrocities committed in the concentration camp Auschwitz, a short two hours by train from Krakow you get there, or you can avail of the many buses that leave local hotels at the reception.

The first thing you notice is the quietness of the city and it has not changed much because the former hotel still bears the marks of the army, germane, but when you arrive at camp with large doors requiring you an idea of what it must have been liked to see and be full of fear.

After your trip one day you can relax in your hotel, of which there are many reasonable price, you can take a stroll along the Vistula River and head for one of the many bars and clubs that are in the square and enjoy a selection Music from Jazz to Rock and even the traditional Polish music and dance.
