I want to open a nightclub GLBTQXYZ except the main location is next to a straight bar?
My city is one of 80,000 mostly blue state. We have 1 gay bar, and 1 lesbian bar, but the closest dance clubs are 150 and 200 miles away. I wish providing a safe place to meet and enjoy the dance and music, without worrying about friends drunk driving long distances and exhausted. I also want to give the community and raise awareness of gay culture. The problem is that some customers complained of coughing bars near patronizing gays / lesbians and bars they feel like straight lines invade their space. I can not and will not discriminate … (blue and pink, silver is silver green for me) Because I'm bi, I can see both sides, so I need your help. Would you go to a nightclub that is frequented by straights or you prefer a nightclub in the main branch? (Ie. .. far from straight bars) Remember, I want to offer a warm, safe relaxing.
I understand your problem and I can understand why you feel conflicted. I can tell you how I feel as a gay man in a small town and make suggestions: If you're in the closet that you are fairly sure Switching from one institution, all the gays who would be attended by "family". If, however, you live in fear of being "discovered"-which many homosexuals do-there is no way in hell that I will show a bar where my right, Clueless, colleagues, family and neighbors could walk in each second. The other problem I have is that I live in a world straight. I do not want to share my nightlife with people straight! When I leave, I want to know that The Eye of Judgment is not nearby. I am uncomfortable with "mixed" company when I really let loose. So when I head to the local gay bar if it's 50/50 I usually look for the exits. My suggestion is to have theme nights. Saturday night could be a dance / night for celebration everyone with a braking shows thrown in for good measure. Friday evening and Sunday might be "boys" night. Exclusively for our peeps. During the week, you can mix and any kind of theme party that could be cool in your area. This is the only way that I show. Good luck! I hope that you will be very successful!
